Event: Tasc Tulip Pick Farm Outing with Tom Kallsen

Tasc Tulip Pick Farm Outing with Tom Kallsen

Tasc Tulip Pick Farm Outing with Tom Kallsen

For Tasc, it’s more than just flowers, it’s an experience!  Their gorgeous tulips can provide you with a bit of joy and a pleasant diversion during these difficult times!  Come out with your camera, explore and photograph this botanical treasure and you will go home with more than just photos and memories; you will also bring home 10 beautiful flowers personally selected by you!

Last year, to embark on a new adventure, Tasc planted 1 million tulip bulbs in the fall at their farm in Fenwick, ON.  The company was initially planning to just test their tulips in Canada, to observe the field conditions and to take business photos.  However, after planting, Tasc decided they wanted to share the glory with others!  So in their second year of planting (it is now 2 million bulbs) Tasc decided to open a U-Pick tulip farm.  Now, Tasc is grateful and humble that they were granted permission by Niagara’s Health Department to open their first You Pick Farm this season – May 1 to May 31st.

HCC Members and their immediate family members can be part of one of the first camera club excursions to explore this new and colourful setting.  As part of this outing, each participant will get to pick 10 tulips to take home.  Tasc will wrap the blooms up for your return journey.  In addition, since early May is a great time to get back to your roots and enjoy the simple pleasures in life, you might also have the opportunity to witness the blooming of the orchards of Niagara on your way to the tulip farm.  Why not make a day of it?

Please note this outing will occur during Tasc’s regular business hours and, as a result, the farm will be open to the public during our visit.  However, given the size of the farm, Tom does not believe that will be a problem.
