Light Painting – A Special Outing with Scott Simons and Chris Empey

This is rare a chance to experiment with unique type of Light Painting. Scott and Chris will guide participants through the process of using coloured tubes and other light sources, a model and an assistant or two to create unique lighting opportunities.
The scheduled date is the evening of Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 7:30pm with an alternate rain date on the following evening of Sunday September 12th. The final Hamilton region location of the outing is yet to be determined by Scott and Chris. Registered participants will be notified of the selected location closer to the date of the outing.
This Hamilton area outing is limited to 20 Hamilton Camera Club members only* on a first come basis and is currently SOLD OUT. Payment, of the $20 fee via PayPal, is required at the time of registration which is only available below. Please be aware that this event is only open to those who were members in good standing in 2020/21 or have purchased their membership 2021/22 season.

Scott is a professional photographer who has been a member of the Niagara Falls Camera Club since 1983 and has held most of the positions on the executive board. He is currently their President. Scott is also active in the NFRCC where he holds the position of Canadian Treasurer. In 2002, Scott won the Kodak Award for Photographic Excellence; when it was called that. He has been judging and presenting to camera clubs throughout the region and beyond for over 30 years.

Chris is an award winning, Niagara Falls, Canada based professional photographer. He particularly enjoys nature photography and specializes in early morning macro photographic work. Chris has had images published around the world and is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes for his work, including the prestigious Kodak Award for Photographic Excellence.
One of Chris’s latest endeavours is his study of artistic light painting with coloured light sources becoming the brushes for his photographic canvas. It is an endeavour that he is happy to share with those who might be interested. Chris is available for family photos, weddings and events.
Registration and $20 payment is required for all workshop participants*.
* Participants must either be a 2020/21 or a 2021/22 paid up member in good standing.
