2022/23 Niagara Butterfly Conservatory Outing with Mike Pidwerbecki
Registration for this outing is now closed.
The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is a butterfly house operated by the Niagara Parks Commission in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The conservatory will be open to our group exclusively prior to the normal operating hours for the general public.
Outing attendees will have the opportunity to create images of the many different species of butterflies and moths in the conservatory with fewer distracting elements, i.e. people. In addition, tripods, monopods and other camera equipment will be allowed during the group booking time of 8:00 am – 10:00 am, which is unlike the Conservatory’s usual restrictions, making this a unique opportunity for HCC members.
Attendees from our group who wish to remain in the conservatory after 10:00 am are welcome to do so. Please be aware however, that tripods and gear other than a camera and a monopod will not be allowed after 10:00 am.
Please note: As the conservatory will not be open to the public there will be specific instructions to follow regarding entrance to the facility for those who register for this event. In addition, it is very warm in the conservatory so you may wish to dress accordingly. There may be a room where you can leave your coats, bags etc. while in the conservatory shooting.
The Niagara Butterfly Conservatory is located approximately 9 kilometres north of Niagara Falls on the grounds of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Additional information about the Conservatory can be found on the Niagara Parks Commission’s web site.
