Macro and Nature Photography
Capturing the beauty of nature has been a favourite of many people for thousands of years. Only relatively recently have we been able to capture it better/easier with all of the photographic technology available to us.
However, technology is only one part of the macro and nature photography equation. Throughout “Macro and Nature Photography”, Jason DiMichele will be discussing techniques on how to capture great macro and nature images (landscapes, mammals, birds). Photographic equipment will also be discussed, but the focus will be mostly on techniques and examples.
Regardless of what camera system you own (even if it’s your phone), you’ll learn some valuable information to help you capture those breathtaking experiences!
Jason is a fine art photographer from Milton, Ontario, Canada who specializes in nature and abstract photography. His creative vision is fueled by his love of the outdoors and explorative nature.
His photographic passions include landscapes, abandoned places, wildlife and abstracts. Jason immerses himself in all aspects of his art and is involved in every facet of its creation from initial capture to print.
Jason is a proponent of learning the technical skills required to be proficient with your equipment and to aid in the creation of your art. However, he insists that keeping one’s creative vision at the forefront is ultimately most important. There is always room for our vision as artists to grow and evolve. The camera sees scientifically and therefore we need to see artistically. Capturing the viewer’s emotion and imagination allows them to resonate with his art with a sense of intrigue. Jason’s art evokes feelings of serenity, tranquility and intimacy with the subject.
Jason is an X-Rite Coloratti, a Hahnemuhle Certified Studio (fine art printing), and a ViewSonic Partner Photographer. He has been published in Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), PhotoED Guide, Outdoor Photography Canada magazine, and PHOTONews, and has taught many photography courses at Humber College. Jason offers a range of services including fine art printing, art reproduction and selling his fine art photographic prints. He always welcomes the opportunity to teach and inspire others. He teaches both the creative and technical aspects of photography through photo walks, presentations and workshops.
Jason always tries to keep a positive and optimistic outlook on life, and is always willing to help someone when he can. Jason believes that sharing information and skills is vital. We must never forget where we came from or those that helped us early in our journeys.
Jason is very passionate about his photography and the services that he provides. He is very fortunate and counts his blessings that he’s able to do what he loves. Capturing the world’s beauty is Jason’s true passion; nature makes him whole!
Jason’s presentation will be online and guests are welcome. Please contact the HCC for instructions if are not a member.
