Updated: Intentional Camera Movement Outing with Juraj Dolanjski

Updated information can be found in the “Details” section below.  New information is in blue typeface.

A.K.A. ICM – Use your camera to create unique images.  Truly “paint with the camera” by learning to use slow shutter speed, while the camera is moving.  This field trip will be done outside and you are encouraged to bring your camera with wide to short zoom lens.  Slow lens is preferred or add a neutral density filter to allow for slow shutter speeds.  Instructions about the movement will be provided and demonstrated where possible.  Learn simple techniques that result in a successful image.  Be experimental, resulting in “one of a kind” creations.

See some examples of ICM images in the gallery found at the top of this page

About Juraj

Juraj Dolanjski was born in rural Croatia, surrounded by rolling hills of vineyards and oak forests.  This was the perfect location to experience the freedom and beauty of nature and ultimately shape his creative spirit and inquisitive mind from a young age.

Completing his education in Electronics, Juraj immigrated to Canada seeking economic opportunity.  He spent his career at McMaster University and Environment Canada inventing, developing, creating and building many sophisticated electronic apparatuses that were used in environmental research.  Many of them are still in use on the ships of Coast Guard Canada to monitor the health of the Great Lakes.

In 1975 he bought his first camera.  It soon became a creative tool to capture images of travel, nature and of the abstract world.  Juraj continues this lifelong passion of creativity, never really resting and always searching for new ways of “seeing”.

His search has resulted in numerous photographic journeys, exhibitions and projects.  Juraj is an expert in all technical and artistic aspects of photography, audio-visual art and related software.  He has developed many educational presentations and seminars which are in high demand.  All of Juraj’s presentations are down-to-earth, easily understood and richly illustrated with his visual and artistic samples. His sense of composition is next to none.

Juraj has been at the forefront of the digital revolution, introducing digital to the Hamilton Camera Club.  He is currently at the level of Master Photographer, with an 11 Star rating and a Life membership in The Hamilton Camera Club of Ontario, Canada.

Juraj’s latest accolade was his 2020 invitation to become a member of prestigious French Art Society, Mondial Art Academia
