2022/23 A Human Powered Big Year with Brett Forsyth
In January of 2022, Brett Forsyth climbed on his bicycle and embarked on a year long journey to document as many bird species as possible in Ontario. Brett will be in-person in Hamilton to present and discuss his adventure. You can read more about Brett’s struggles and successes on the Human Powered Big Year section of his web site.
Born and raised close to the ocean on Canada’s majestic Pacific coast, I was immersed in its rich natural environment. This coastal upbringing lead me to develop a deep love for the ocean and its inhabitants. In my early 20’s, I moved to North Vancouver where I inherited my first SLR camera and discovered my passion for photography – the perfect blend of technical skill and artistic freedom – that provided an opportunity to share my passion for the natural world.
This passion has me constantly on the look out for that which is easily passed by. I am happiest when I am covered in mud, being bitten by bugs, soaked to the bone or frozen to the core. My hope is that my images will inspire you to take steps to help preserve these wonders for generations to come. — Brett Forsyth
