Clinics provide club members with an opportunity to share their images with other photography enthusiasts plus clinics are a great opportunity to learn and improve one’s photography skills.
Members can submit their images, either print or digital, to a clinic and then receive a score out of 30 for each image entered in the clinic. In addition, Members can request a constructive comment from the judges for an image entered in each clinic. As an added bonus, the Hamilton Camera Club will track your scores, allowing members to be recognized for the improvement in their efforts as they advance through the ranks from Junior to Multiple Star Master.
The Hamilton Camera Club holds clinics four times a year. Our judges are all qualified by at least one of three oversight bodies: the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA), the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs (O3C), or the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
Image Divisions, Categories & Assignment Topics
You can choose to enter an image in either one of two divisions: print or projected. Projected images will be presented, along with the judging results, at a club meeting using a digital media. Whereas, physical prints which will be displayed, along with the judging results, at one of our in-person meetings.
When submitting an image for a clinic you are asked to choose one of four categories to help the judges assess the image. The categories are Assignment, Creative, Nature or Pictorial. More information about the categories and submission requirements can be found on the Rules for Clinics page.

We do encourage you to seriously consider participating; having your work constructively critiqued by qualified people can be a fantastic way of improving your photography. We also encourage members, particularly those who are new to the club, to attend our highly respected and entertaining Intro to Clinics Workshop which provides members with a wealth of information about the Hamilton Camera Club in general and about clinics in particular.
